In the heart of Berlin, where Kreuzberg meets Mitte, a new home for modern Kung Fu has opened. At its center stands Sifu Shem Stoler — a martial artist, teacher, and community builder with over twenty years of experience in Kung Fu, movement, and human development.

Shem’s Kung Fu journey began in 2001 in Tel Aviv, when a single Kung Fu demonstration sparked something immediate and lasting. What started as fascination quickly became devotion. Over the following years, he dedicated his life to Kung Fu not only as a fighting system, but as a way to strengthen the body, focus the mind, and express the heart.

In 2004, Shem completed his professional certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer through the University of Tel Aviv, followed in 2008 by his certification as a Kung Fu Instructor for children and adults at the Wingate Institute for Sports in Netanya — two of Israel’s leading institutions for sports education.

After years of intensive training under his formative mentor, Shem began teaching children alongside his Sifu. When his teacher later retired from teaching, Shem was entrusted with leading both the adult groups and the continuation of the style. In 2008, their paths respectfully diverged, marking the beginning of a new chapter. It was at this point that Shem founded Dragon Heart Kung Fu — not as a break from tradition, but as an evolution of it.

Since then, Shem has dedicated himself to teaching, performing, and demonstrating Kung Fu, helping the Dragon Heart Way grow and develop as a living, modern system.

In 2015, Shem moved to Berlin — drawn by love, and by the city’s diversity, creativity, and raw energy. Over the past decade, he has taught Kung Fu across the city, from Kreuzberg and Neukölln to Prenzlauer Berg and Wilmersdorf. What began in parks, community centers, and shared spaces slowly grew into a strong and diverse Kung Fu family of children, teenagers, and adults.

Today, that journey has a permanent home: Dragon Heart Kung Fu Berlin.

The style Shem teaches is known as the Dragon Heart Way — a modern Kung Fu system that does not cling to rigid forms or empty tradition. Instead, it is built around movement that works in real life. It values practical and applicable techniques, real self-defense and self-preservation, overall fitness, mobility, coordination, and long-term health, as well as mental focus and emotional well-being.

While Dragon Heart is modern in its training methods, it is deeply rooted in respect — for the ancient martial art of Kung Fu, and for every person who steps onto the mat. Tradition is honored not by copying the past, but by keeping its spirit alive through mindful, purposeful practice.

For Shem, Kung Fu is far more than a sport or a system. It is a language of movement. Like dance or spoken language, it allows people to express emotions, release stress, and reconnect with themselves through the body. He believes true progress comes not from forcing oneself, but from listening to the body, training with discipline rather than ego, and respecting each individual’s personal journey. Every student is seen as a person — never as a number.

The Dragon Heart Kung Fu Studio in Kreuzberg, right on the border of Mitte, is more than a gym. It is a dojo, a community, and a safe space where people from all backgrounds are welcome to train, grow, and reconnect with themselves. Whether someone comes to become stronger, learn self-defense, improve fitness, or simply feel better in their body, they are met with the same care and respect.

Dragon Heart Kung Fu Berlin is built on one simple belief:
Strength and kindness can exist in balance — side by side.

Just like the smiling yin and yang in its logo.

Welcome to Dragon Heart.
